Pics From My Recent Trip to Australia

I recently returned from a business trip to Australia at the beginning of July.  I was working most of the time, but did get a chance to tour just a bit.  My first day in, we checked out the Sydney Opera House and took a boat tour from Manly Beach around the Sydney Harbor - quite spectacular!  And later, while staying in Wagga Wagga, I got a chance to go to a shearing shed and find out where my Merino wool sweaters really come from!  All in all, it was a great trip.  Thanks so much to my wonderful hostess, Bronwyn Boyle, for showing me such a fun time!

Please Help The Continuing Recovery Efforts In Haiti!

My friend, Fr. Ken Deasy, is going back to Haiti for another trip to help with the recovery efforts there.  The work he is doing is AMAZING!

I know that there are a lot of worthwhile causes out there - but he could really use your help.  No donation is too small, and 100% of the money goes to help those in need - NO ADMINISTRATION OR OVERHEAD COSTS!!  For his past trips, Ken has raised $125,000 to take down there, but there is still a lot of work to do - and the people there need our help.

So, please consider helping out these kids in Haiti - and I’m copying a message he sent out over the weekend about his pending trip, and the work that is being done.

Thank you in advance for your generosity!!

BACK TO HAITI ON MARCH 25!...

BTW, WHERE DID ALL THAT 2010 U.S. MONEY FOR HAITI RELIEF GO?

Can't tell you. Often, I'm asked that question as I solicit help for the kids on "The Farm" everytime I speak of the kids there as I prepare for another trip. All I can tell you is that "the word is" that half of the billion was given to social service agencies already in Haiti before the 2010 quake...USAID, American Red Cross, UNICEF, etc. The rest remains until the Haitian government (still in process of formation) can get it's act together with a plan.
ALL I KNOW FOR SURE, is that over the $500,000 initially given to the Holy Childhood Association, Los Angeles, 100% of it was given to over 8 Catholic religious orders who have been serving the impoverished people of Haiti (way before the 2010 earthquake) in giving their lives to the Lord's service as missionaries. An additional $125,000 was collected from YOU for my previous four trips and 100% of it given for the relocation, temporary establishment and permanent rebuilding underway at the Institut Montfort (aka "the Farm") for the housing and education of 300 deaf and mute Haitian children. No administration costs were deducted from it. 100% baby!!!
Please open the attachment to read an article published in The Los Angeles TIDINGS it tells the story; a true story. We're not just about rebuilding the buildings (though we can boast of having 10 toilets now; and they flush!) but also we're sending teachers to France to be specialized in teaching techniques specifically for kids with these physical and resulting emotional disabilities that they endure
YEP! I can't wait to see the Sisters and kids again! Please HELP, SPREAD THE WORD via Internet and send tax deductible donations made out to:
HOLY CHILDHOOD ASSOCIATION
C/O HAITIAN FUND
3424 WILSHIRE BLVD., THIRD FLOOR
LOS ANGELES, CA 90010

Love, ken

From Katharine Hepburn’s 1981 interview with Barbara Walters | Old Hollywood

From Katharine Hepburnā€™s 1981 interview with Barbara Walters:   Hepburn: “I have not lived as a woman. I have lived as a man…I’ve just done what I damn well wanted to and I made enough money to support myself. And I ain’t afraid of being alone.” Walters: “Is that why also you wear pants?” Hepburn: “No, I just wore pants because they’re comfortable.” Walters: “Do you ever wear a skirt, by the way?” Hepburn: “I have one.” Walters: “You have one.” Hepburn: “I’ll wear it to your funeral.” (via/photo via)

Debbie Reynold's Classic Hollywood Auction

My business partner Johnny and I went to the Paley Media Center in Beverly Hills yesterday to see the Debbie Reynolds Collection. It was truly awesome!

You can see from the pics - lots of great clothes, props, and movie memorabilia. Marilyn's dress, Judy Garland's costumes from The Wizard Of Oz and Meet Me In St. Louis, and many others.
